Why Did You Start Crafty Happy Lady?
As the time in isolation grew longer during COVID-19, I saw several people posting about missing being with friends and family. From a friend showing herself waving to an elderly family member through the window of the retirement home she could no longer visit, to a mom posting about her daughter breaking down in tears from missing her friends, it reminded me of a way I love to connect with my friends and loved ones - through mail...that’s right actual physical MAIL. So I started thinking of fun ways to share my love of crafting with my love of mail.
What Makes Crafty Happy Lady Different From Other Craft Kits and Courses?
There are several ways I chose to make this a different experience for young and old alike.
Every kit comes with EVERYTHING you need, but ONLY what you need. Anything that is left over like scissors, a ruler, a clipboard, etc. can be used in a myriad of ways after the fact or donated to a charitable organization of your choice. No more mismatched beads, extra bits of yarn or other odds and ends that you won’t find useful anywhere else.
Every kit is packaged by hand by a real human being. It allows for more choices for the crafter when ordering the kit. This makes ordering super fun and you won’t feel like you’re just getting a “grab bag.”
Each kit includes the supplies for 2 crafts of the same type. You’ll make one for your friend or family member and one for yourself. Included in the kit is a prepaid shipping container or envelope to send one of the items to the person of your choice.
Every kit comes with a full member site with detailed videos showing how to create the craft and send it. You have lifetime access to the course.
Every kit and course is customizable in one or more ways. The Friendship Bracelet Kit and Course for example allows the crafter to choose all colors of both bracelets as well as whether they are right or left handed.
What if I or My Crafter is Left Handed?
My mom is left handed and while I’m actually right handed, I do many things (like cut my food and do my cartwheels) with my left hand. Mom says that she thinks I would have been left handed, but she would sit in front of me and teach me to craft or do other useful things and I would mirror her….from her left hand to my right hand. I also make my Xs on cross stitch projects like a left hander, even though I stitch them with my right hand. I remember her and I trying to learn a certain crochet stitch one time and we determined it was too difficult to try to figure out how to watch a right handed instructional video and do the stitch left handed. That’s why every kit and course will ask if the crafter is right or left handed. If scissors are included in the kit, they will be left hand scissors and there will be videos showing the steps left handed in the member site.
